About This Trail

Wright is a 2.85-km cross-country ski trail within the Morice Mountain Nordic Ski Club Trail Network. It is one of the longer routes in the network, offering skiers an opportunity to explore the forested landscape and enjoy a longer outing on Morice Mountain. The trail forms part of the club's interconnected Nordic trail system, which features a mix of gentle terrain, rolling sections, and challenging hills.

Getting There

Directions

From Houston, travel south on Buck Flats Road for approximately 8 km to the Morice Mountain Nordic Ski Club recreation area. Park near the day lodge and follow the official trail map and directional signs to locate Wright within the Nordic trail network.

Parking

Parking is available at the designated Morice Mountain Nordic Ski Club parking area near the day lodge. Use marked spaces and keep access roads and trail entrances clear.

  • Check current grooming reports, snow conditions, and weather before skiing.
  • Wright is a longer route, so plan your outing according to your fitness and experience.
  • Stay on designated trails and follow posted signs.
  • All ski trails are two-way; yield to downhill traffic.
  • Maintain control and watch for other skiers at junctions.
  • Carry a trail map, charged phone, water, and basic emergency supplies.
  • Dress appropriately for changing winter conditions.
