About This Trail

Lynx is a cross-country ski trail located in the Possum Paradise section of the Morice Mountain Nordic Ski Club Trail Network. Created in 2019, it has become a popular route among skiers of different ages and skill levels. The trail helps connect several loops and route options around Possum Paradise, making it a useful part of the area's interconnected intermediate-level trail system.

Getting There

Directions

From Houston, travel south on Buck Flats Road for approximately 8 km to the Morice Mountain Nordic Ski Club recreation area. Park near the day lodge and follow the official trail map toward Possum Paradise. Lynx can be accessed from the trail junctions in this area.

Parking

Parking is available at the designated Morice Mountain Nordic Ski Club parking area near the day lodge. Use marked spaces and keep access roads and trail entrances clear.

Safety & Preparation

  • Check current snow conditions and grooming reports before skiing.
  • Lynx is part of an intermediate-level trail area; choose routes suited to your ability.
  • Trails are two-way, so yield to downhill traffic.
  • Stay in control, especially around junctions and downhill sections.
  • Follow trail signs and carry a map or GPS-enabled navigation device.
  • Dress appropriately for winter conditions and bring water and basic emergency supplies.
  • Ski at your own risk.
