Getting There

Directions

From Smithers, travel north on Highway 16 and take the exit onto Kitseguecla Loop Road. Follow the signs toward the ski area and continue along Kitseguecla Lake Road for approximately 8 km. Turn left onto the Uptrack Forest Service Road and follow it to the Hankin parking lot. From the parking area, follow the designated uphill skin tracks and consult the official Hankin-Evelyn trail map to locate Run 4A.

Parking

Parking is available at the designated Hankin-Evelyn parking lot. The parking area provides access to the uphill routes, numbered ski runs, and warming hut. The access road is plowed during winter, but snow and icy conditions can make driving challenging. Winter tires and a suitable winter-capable vehicle are recommended. The upper section of Uptrack Forest Service Road is narrow and one-lane, with descending traffic having the right of way. Trailers are not permitted.

  • Skiing ability: Choose terrain appropriate for your experience and downhill skiing skills.
  • Travel with a partner: Avoid skiing alone and establish an emergency communication plan.
  • Weather preparedness: Bring appropriate winter clothing, food, water, navigation equipment, and emergency supplies.
