Getting There

Directions

From Smithers, travel north on Highway 16 and take the exit onto Kitseguecla Loop Road. Follow the signs toward Kitseguecla Lake Road and continue for approximately 8 km. Turn left onto the signed Uptrack Forest Service Road (608 Road) and follow it to the Hankin parking lot. From the parking area, follow the designated uphill skin tracks and consult the official Hankin trail map to locate Run 3.

Parking

Parking is available at the designated Hankin Backcountry Recreation Area parking lot. The parking area provides access to the uphill tracks, ski runs, and warming hut. The access road is maintained during winter, but snow and icy conditions can make driving challenging. Winter tires and a suitable high-clearance vehicle are recommended when conditions require them. Trailers are not permitted on the narrow upper section of the Uptrack Forest Service Road. Descending traffic has the right of way on this road.
