The access road is plowed during winter, but conditions can be snowy, icy, and rough. Winter tires and a suitable vehicle are recommended. Park in designated spaces and keep the access road clear for other visitors and maintenance vehicles.

Safety & Preparation

  • Backcountry route: This is a self-propelled uphill ski route without chairlift access or regular ski patrol services.
  • Avalanche awareness: Check the current avalanche forecast before travelling. Carry a transceiver, probe, and shovel, and know how to use them.
  • Stay on marked uptracks: Follow designated uphill routes and observe all posted signs and closures.
  • Changing snow conditions: Be prepared for deep snow, icy sections, tree wells, and variable terrain.
  • Travel with a partner: Avoid travelling alone and establish an emergency communication plan.
  • Winter weather: Dress in appropriate layers and bring food, water, navigation tools, and emergency supplies.
  • Respect other users: Watch for downhill skiers and snowboarders when ascending, particularly near trail intersections.
  • Remote location: Cell service may be unreliable. Inform someone of your planned route and expected return time.
