About This Trail

Nass Hotsprings, also known as Hlgu Isgwit Hot Springs, is a natural hot-spring site in the Nass Valley. The springs are a culturally and spiritually important place for the Nisga’a and have been used for ceremonial, medicinal, and spiritual purposes.

Getting There

Directions

From Terrace, follow the Nisga’a Highway north into the Nass Valley. Continue toward the established access for Hlgu Isgwit Hot Springs and follow the marked access route to the springs.

Parking

Parking is available at the established hot-springs access area. Do not block the access road or areas required for authorized vehicles.

Safety & Preparation

  • The hot springs are extremely hot in their natural state; use caution around the water.
  • Respect the cultural and spiritual significance of the site.
  • Follow all posted rules and Nisga’a guidance while visiting.
  • Stay on established access paths and boardwalks.
  • Natural surfaces may be wet and slippery.
  • Be prepared for limited services and changing weather conditions.
  • Pack out garbage and leave the area clean.
