About This Trail

Snowbound is a blue-rated singletrack trail within the Onion Lake trail network near Terrace. It is primarily used for Nordic skiing and is groomed for both classic and skate skiing during winter. The trail is also part of the area's hiking and trail-running network.

Getting There

Directions

From Terrace, travel south on Highway 37 toward the Onion Lake Cross Country Ski Trails. Enter the established trail system and follow the marked network toward Snowbound.

Parking

Parking is available at the established Onion Lake Cross Country Ski Trails parking area. Use designated parking spaces and keep access roads and trail entrances clear.

Safety & Preparation

  • Snowbound is one of the lighted trails used for night skiing.
  • Watch for Nordic skiers and other trail users, particularly during winter.
  • Snow and icy conditions can make the trail surface slippery.
  • During snow-free conditions, expect natural forest surfaces and uneven terrain.
  • Wildlife may be present in the surrounding forest and wetland areas.
  • Follow posted trail-use rules and current grooming information.
