About This Trail

Rainbow is a blue-rated singletrack trail within the Onion Lake trail network near Terrace. It passes through the surrounding forest and is primarily used for Nordic skiing during winter, while also supporting hiking and trail running during snow-free conditions.

Getting There

Directions

From Terrace, travel south on Highway 37 toward the Onion Lake area. Enter the Onion Lake Cross Country Ski Trails and follow the established trail network toward Rainbow.

Parking

Parking is available at the established Onion Lake Cross Country Ski Trails access area. Use designated parking spaces and keep access roads and trail entrances clear.

  • The trail is used in both directions; watch for approaching skiers, hikers, and runners.
  • Winter conditions may include groomed classic and skate-ski tracks.
  • Wet or icy conditions can make the trail surface slippery.
  • Expect natural forest terrain and uneven surfaces during snow-free seasons.
  • Wildlife may be present in the surrounding forest and wetland areas.
