About This Trail

Beaver (with bypass) is a forested Nordic ski trail within the Onion Lake trail network between Terrace and Kitimat. The route includes a bypass option and forms part of the interconnected winter trail system maintained for classic and skate skiing. It is also part of the broader trail network used for hiking and trail activities during snow-free conditions.

Getting There

Directions

From Terrace, travel south on Highway 37 toward Onion Lake. Enter the Onion Lake Cross Country Ski Trails area and follow the established trail network toward Beaver (with bypass).

Parking

Parking is available at the established Onion Lake Cross Country Ski Trails parking area. Use designated spaces and keep access roads and trail entrances clear.

Safety & Preparation

  • The trail is primarily maintained for Nordic skiing during winter.
  • Be aware of both classic and skate-ski traffic and follow trail-use etiquette.
  • The trail is lighted for night skiing, but visibility can still vary with weather conditions.
