About This Trail

Lone Wolf is a forested trail within the Onion Lake trail network near Lakelse Lake. The route passes through the surrounding woodland and forms part of the area's Nordic ski trail system, with the trail network also providing opportunities for hiking and other recreational use during snow-free seasons.

Getting There

Directions

From Terrace, travel south on Highway 37 toward the Onion Lake area. Enter the Onion Lake trail system and follow the established trail network toward the Lone Wolf junction.

Parking

Parking is available at the established Onion Lake Cross Country Ski Trails access area. Use designated parking spaces and keep access roads and trail entrances clear.

Safety & Preparation

  • Expect forested terrain with roots, uneven surfaces, and potentially muddy sections.
  • Winter conditions may include snow and groomed Nordic ski tracks.
  • Watch for skiers and other trail users, particularly during the winter season.
  • Wet areas can become soft or muddy following rain or snowmelt.
  • Watch for wildlife, including moose, and maintain a safe distance.
  • Stay on established trails and follow any posted seasonal-use instructions.
