About This Trail

Twin Spruce Trail is an easy, family-friendly walking trail at Furlong Bay Campground in Lakelse Lake Provincial Park. The trail winds through impressive coastal old-growth forest, wetlands, and along Salmon Creek. Several sections were upgraded to improve accessibility and weather resilience, including improvements to bridges and trail surfaces.

Getting There

Directions

From Terrace, travel south on Highway 37 toward Lakelse Lake Provincial Park. Enter the Furlong Bay Campground and follow the campground road toward the beach and day-use area. The Twin Spruce Trail begins near the beach area.

Parking

Parking is available at the Furlong Bay campground and day-use area near the trailhead. Use designated parking spaces and follow any posted campground or seasonal access restrictions.

Safety & Preparation

  • Stay on the designated trail to protect the old-growth forest and surrounding habitat.
  • Boardwalks and bridges may become slippery when wet.
  • Watch for roots, uneven surfaces, and muddy sections.
  • Salmon and other wildlife may be present around Salmon Creek.
  • Dogs must be kept on a leash within the park.
  • Follow posted park regulations and respect seasonal closures or advisories.
