About This Trail

Munthe Trail is a forested singletrack trail in the Terrace Mountain network near Terrace. It is primarily used for hiking and trail running, while also providing a connection between the Munthe trailhead and the wider Terrace Mountain trail system. The trail is generally downhill from the Munthe area toward the surrounding network.

Getting There

Directions

Access the Terrace Mountain network from the Munthe trailhead in Terrace. Follow Munthe Avenue toward the established trail access and use the current Terrace Mountain trail map to connect with Munthe Trail and the surrounding routes.

Parking

Use the established Munthe trailhead parking area or other designated parking nearby. Do not block residential streets, driveways, gates, or access roads.

Safety & Preparation

  • Hiking-primary trail with sections that can be difficult to follow.
  • Expect roots, rocks, uneven ground, and steep sections.
  • Conditions can become muddy or slippery after rain.
  • Mountain bikers may use the trail as a connection into the Terrace Mountain network; remain alert at trail junctions.
  • Keep dogs under control and follow local leash requirements.
  • Carry an offline map when connecting to the larger trail network.
  • Be alert for wildlife, including bears.
