Black Slabbath is an advanced downhill mountain bike trail in the Terrace Mountain trail network near Terrace. The trail features steep rock slabs, technical terrain, jumps, gaps, drops, and rock-face sections. It is rated Double Black Diamond and is intended for highly experienced riders.

Getting There

Directions

Access Terrace Mountain through the established trail network and follow the current trail map toward Flathead and Black Slabbath. Black Slabbath is a downhill-only trail, so confirm the correct approach before beginning the descent.

Parking

Use established parking areas serving the Terrace Mountain trail network, including the Flathead-area parking. Do not block residential roads, gates, or other access routes.

Safety & Preparation

  • Double Black Diamond downhill trail for highly experienced riders.
  • Expect steep rock slabs, drops, jumps, gaps, and technical terrain.
  • The gaps have ride-arounds, but the steep slabs do not.
  • Inspect technical features and trail conditions before riding.
  • Wet conditions can make the rock surfaces particularly slippery.
  • Use appropriate full protective equipment for advanced downhill riding.
  • Watch for hikers, cyclists, and other trail users on connecting routes.
  • Carry an offline map, repair equipment, water, and emergency supplies.
  • Be alert for wildlife, including bears.
