About This Trail

Babyweight is an advanced downhill mountain bike trail in the Copper Mountain network near Terrace. It forms part of the area’s freeride and technical downhill terrain and is included in The Freerider route. The trail is suited to experienced riders comfortable with challenging technical riding.

Getting There

Directions

Access the Copper Mountain trail network from the main Copper Mountain access road. Follow the current trail map into the upper downhill network toward Babyweight and its connecting trails.

Parking

Use established parking or staging areas near the Copper Mountain access road. Do not block gates, industrial roads, or other access routes.

Safety & Preparation

  • Very advanced downhill/freeride terrain; ride within your ability.
  • Expect steep, technical terrain and natural or constructed trail features.
  • A June 2026 trail report noted that some features were starting to rot, so inspect wooden features carefully before riding.
  • Trail conditions and features may change without notice.
  • Use appropriate downhill protective equipment.
  • Watch for other riders and industrial vehicles on access roads.
  • Carry an offline map, repair equipment, water, and emergency supplies.
  • Be alert for wildlife, including bears.
