Getting There

Directions

From Port Edward, travel east along Highway 16 toward the Tyee area. Access the route from the established roadside access described on current trail maps, then follow the old road and flagged trail toward Skip Mountain. Route conditions and access points can change, so confirm the current approach before starting.

Parking

Limited roadside parking is available near the trail access. Use established pullouts where possible and keep Highway 16, forestry roads, and other access routes clear.

Safety & Preparation

This is a challenging backcountry route with steep, uneven, and potentially overgrown sections. Higher elevations can have wet, snowy, or icy conditions outside summer. Navigation can be difficult in poor visibility, so carry an offline map and emergency supplies. Cell coverage may be limited. Be alert for wildlife, including bears, and avoid unstable slopes and exposed areas.
