About This Trail

Penny Lane, Little Dipper and Boomerang are beginner ski runs within the Shames Mountain Ski Area near Terrace. The three runs provide relatively gentle terrain suitable for beginner skiers and snowboarders and are part of the lower mountain trail network.

Getting There

Directions

From Terrace, travel west on Highway 16 toward Prince Rupert. Shames Mountain Ski Area is approximately 35 km west of Terrace. Follow the signed access road to the ski area and continue to the main lodge and ski-run area.

Parking

Parking is available at the Shames Mountain Ski Area near the main lodge and base facilities. Use designated parking areas and follow any seasonal signs or directions from ski-area staff.

Safety & Preparation

These are ski-area runs and should be used according to Shames Mountain's operating rules and current conditions. Penny Lane, Little Dipper and Boomerang are classified as beginner terrain, but snow, ice and visibility can change quickly. Stay within designated open areas, obey signs and closures, maintain control around other skiers and snowboarders, and follow ski-area safety instructions. The ski-area boundary is not patrolled, so do not enter closed or unpatrolled terrain.
