About This Trail

A moderately challenging hike through the Steinhoe Ridge trail network near Terrace. The route travels through forested terrain toward Toby's Lookout, offering scenic views from the lookout. The area is also used by mountain bikers, with several connecting trails in the surrounding network.

Getting There

Directions

Access the Steinhoe Ridge trail network from the Spring Creek Road entrance. Follow the Steinhoe Ridge trails toward Toby's Lookout using the current trail map, as several trails and junctions connect throughout the network. 

Parking

Parking is available near the Spring Creek Road trail access. Spaces may be limited, so park only in established areas and keep access roads clear.

Safety & Preparation

  • The route is moderately challenging with uneven and forested terrain.
  • The Steinhoe Ridge network is shared with mountain bikers and other trail users.
  • Watch for cyclists, particularly on descents and at trail intersections.
  • Expect roots, rocks, mud, and slippery conditions after rain.
  • Cell service may be limited in parts of the network; carry an offline map.
  • Be bear aware and follow local wildlife precautions.
  • Use the current trail map because multiple trails connect around Steinhoe Ridge.
