About This Trail

Williams Creek Short Loop is an easy forest walking and hiking route near Terrace, British Columbia. The trail follows the Williams Creek area through lush coastal forest and provides a shorter alternative to the longer Williams Creek Loop. It is suitable for hiking, walking, running, and enjoying the surrounding forest and creek environment. AllTrails currently lists it as an easy route.

Getting There

Directions

From Terrace, travel south toward the Lakelse Lake area and follow Old Lakelse Lake Drive toward the Williams Creek area. The trail access is near the Williams Creek recreation area. Follow local signage and the mapped trail entrance to begin the short loop.

Parking

Parking is available near the Williams Creek access area. Park only in designated or appropriate areas and avoid blocking local roads, private driveways, or access routes.

Safety & Preparation

  • The trail is generally easy, but roots, uneven ground, and wet sections may be encountered.
  • The area can become muddy and slippery after rain.
  • Williams Creek runs through the area, so use caution near the water.
  • Bears and other wildlife may be present; keep food and garbage secured.
  • Watch for fallen branches and other natural obstacles in the forest.
  • Dogs should be kept under control and on leash where required.
  • Bring suitable footwear, especially during wet weather.
