About This Trail

Williams Creek Loop is a scenic forest hiking route near Terrace, British Columbia. The trail follows the Williams Creek area through a lush coastal forest, with opportunities to see the creek and surrounding wildlife. It is a moderately challenging route and is also suitable for walking, running, and horseback riding.

Getting There

Directions

From Terrace, travel south toward the Lakelse Lake area and follow the local roads toward Williams Creek. The trail network is accessed from the Williams Creek area south of Terrace. Use an offline trail map or GPS track to locate the specific loop entrance, as access points can vary.

Parking

Parking is available at designated access areas near Williams Creek. Avoid blocking forest-service roads, private access roads, or areas used by industrial vehicles.

Safety & Preparation

  • The trail can be muddy, wet, and slippery, particularly after rainfall.
  • Watch for uneven ground, roots, rocks, and creek crossings.
  • Bears and other wildlife may be present; keep food secured and maintain a safe distance from wildlife.
  • Cell service may be limited in more remote sections.
  • Bring offline navigation, water, and basic emergency supplies.
  • Stay on established trails and avoid disturbing surrounding vegetation.
  • If accessing the Williams Creek Ecological Reserve, note that it is protected for conservation and research. Hiking and nature observation are permitted, but camping, fishing, hunting, foraging, and motorized vehicles are prohibited.
