Gruchy's Beach is a scenic lakeside recreation area on the shores of Lakelse Lake, within Lakelse Lake Provincial Park near Terrace, British Columbia. It offers a peaceful setting for swimming, picnicking, boating, fishing, and enjoying views of the surrounding forest and mountains. The beach is a popular spot for relaxing by the water and accessing the recreational opportunities around Lakelse Lake.

Getting There

Directions

From Terrace, travel south on Highway 37 toward Kitimat. Continue to the signed entrance for Gruchy's Beach / Lakelse Lake Provincial Park. Follow the park access road to the beach and day-use area.

Parking

Parking is available in the designated parking area at Gruchy's Beach. During busy summer periods, the parking area can fill up quickly. Park only in designated spaces and keep access roads clear.

  • There are no lifeguards, so swim at your own risk.
  • Water conditions can change quickly, particularly during windy weather.
  • Watch children closely around the lake and shoreline.
  • Bears and other wildlife may be present; keep food and garbage securely stored.
  • Keep dogs under control and follow current provincial park regulations.
  • The beach and surrounding areas can become slippery when wet.
  • Be cautious around boats and other watercraft.
  • Follow posted signs and any seasonal park restrictions.
