About This Trail

Access Road is a short, easy gravel-path trail in the Kitimat trail network. It is approximately 998 m (3,275 ft) long with about 30 m (98 ft) of climbing and can be travelled in both directions. It provides access to nearby mountain-bike trails including Greenwood, Got Wood, and Skeletor.

Getting There

Directions

The mapped trailhead is at approximately 54.06491, -128.65551 in Kitimat. Access Road forms part of the local trail network and provides a connection toward the nearby Skeletor-area MTB trails.

Parking

There is no dedicated parking directly at the trailhead listed by Trailforks. The nearest mapped parking location is approximately 2.3 miles (3.7 km) away. Use only permitted parking areas and avoid blocking local roads or access routes.

Safety & Preparation

  • The trail is generally easy, but conditions can become slippery or muddy.
  • Watch for mountain bikers using the connecting trails.
  • A September 2025 report noted that some wooden sections were slippery, particularly in wet conditions.
  • Be alert for wildlife, including bears.
  • If continuing toward the Skeletor riding area, note that Skeletor is an unsanctioned riding area and users ride at their own risk.
  • Bring offline navigation if exploring the connecting trail network.
