About This Trail

Got Wood is an advanced mountain-bike trail in the Skeletor riding area near Kitimat, British Columbia. The trail is approximately 3,635 ft (1.11 km) long and features numerous technical obstacles, including wooden ladder bridges and steep rock faces. It is intended for experienced mountain bikers comfortable with technical terrain. Trailforks rates the trail highly and identifies it as one of the notable trails in the Skeletor area.

Getting There

Directions

Access Got Wood through the Skeletor riding area near Kitimat. The trail is connected to the area's access network, including Got Wood Access and Access Road. Use an offline trail map or GPS track to locate the entrance, as the individual trailhead is not clearly signed. 

Parking

There is no clearly documented dedicated parking lot directly at Got Wood. Parking for the wider Skeletor area should be used where permitted. Do not block residential roads, driveways, forestry roads, or trail access.

Safety & Preparation

  • The Skeletor riding area is unsanctioned and is ridden at your own risk.
  • Got Wood contains advanced technical features, including wooden ladder bridges and steep rock faces.
  • A mountain bike suitable for technical terrain, helmet, and appropriate protective equipment are strongly recommended.
  • Wooden features may become very slippery when wet. A June 2026 trail report described Got Wood as wet and "downright scary," so current conditions should be checked before riding.
  • Ride within your ability and inspect technical features before attempting them.
  • Be alert for other riders and wildlife, including bears.
  • Carry navigation and emergency equipment, as services may be limited within the riding area.
