About This Trail

Skeletor is a mountain-bike singletrack in the Skeletor riding area near Kitimat, British Columbia. It is the original trail of the riding area and features several very steep sections, rock gardens, drops, and other technical terrain. The trail is approximately 658 m (2,159 ft) long and is rated Black Diamond, with a downhill-only direction.

Getting There

Directions

The mapped Skeletor trailhead is located within the Skeletor riding area near Kitimat. Trailforks gives the trailhead coordinates as approximately 54.06216, -128.66977. Access the area using the established local trail/access network and follow the current trail map to the Skeletor entrance. 

Parking

There is no dedicated parking lot directly at the Skeletor trailhead identified in the available trail information. Trailforks lists nearby parking approximately 3 km from the trailhead. Use only permitted parking areas and avoid blocking residential streets or access roads.

Safety & Preparation

  • Skeletor is an unsanctioned trail and is ridden at your own risk.
  • The trail is rated Black Diamond and has several very steep sections.
  • It is downhill only; riders should not climb the trail against the designated direction.
  • Expect rock gardens, drops, steep terrain, roots, and other technical features.
  • A properly maintained mountain bike, helmet, and appropriate protective equipment are strongly recommended.
  • Trail conditions can change, particularly after rain or during periods of limited maintenance.
  • Be alert for other riders and wildlife in the surrounding forest.
  • Check recent trail reports before riding; the Skeletor riding area is currently listed as open, but individual trail conditions can vary.
