About This Trail

Haisla Braves is a hard-level downhill mountain-bike trail in Kitimat’s Haisla Hill Trail System. The trail travels through forested terrain and is part of the connected network around Eagle’s Nest, Trickster, and Lower Eagles Nest. The Haisla Hill system is designed primarily for mountain biking, with trails ranging from easy to expert difficulty.

Getting There

Directions

Access the Haisla Hill Trail System from the Coghlin Park/Viewpoint area. Follow the designated mountain-bike trail network toward Haisla Hill and use the trail signage or current trail map to reach Haisla Braves. The trail is located near Trickster, Lower Eagles Nest, and Son of a Trickster. 

Parking

Use the established parking areas near the Coghlin Park/Haisla Hill trail-system access. Do not block residential streets, trail entrances, or emergency/access roads.


Safety & Preparation

Rated Hard; intended for experienced mountain-bike riders.

The Haisla Hill trails include downhill routes, so follow the posted direction of travel.

Expect steep sections, roots, rocks, and other natural or constructed trail features.

Wear a helmet and appropriate protective equipment.

Watch for other riders, particularly at intersections and blind corners.

Wet weather can make roots, rocks, and soil slippery.

Stay on designated trails and obey posted warning and regulatory signs.

Wildlife, including bears, may be present in the surrounding forest.
