About This Trail

Joe's Trail – Radley Park is an easy forest and riverside route that follows the eastern bank of the Kitimat River before reaching Radley Park. The trail travels through coastal forest with sections of dirt path and boardwalk, offering a peaceful walk surrounded by mature trees and river scenery. At Radley Park, the route connects with the park area before continuing along Dyke Road to complete the loop.

Getting There

Directions

From Highway 37, travel through Kitimat toward Haisla Boulevard. Continue to the third traffic light and turn onto Kuldo Boulevard, then turn onto Columbia Avenue. Follow Columbia Avenue until it reaches the dyke, turn right, then take the first left and continue toward the Kitimat River. Follow signs or the trail map for the Joe's Trail access. 

Parking

Parking is available near the Joe's Trail trailhead along the Kitimat River. Park in an established area without blocking the dyke road, trail access, or other vehicles.

Safety & Preparation

The trail can become muddy and slippery, particularly after rain.

Some sections include boardwalks, roots, and uneven ground.

Stay alert near the Kitimat River, especially during periods of high water.

Be aware of bears and other wildlife in the surrounding forest.

Keep food and garbage secured and practice bear awareness.

Wear waterproof or water-resistant footwear during wet conditions.

There are no garbage facilities along the trail, so pack out everything you bring in.

Follow posted signs and respect any temporary closures or restrictions.
