From Terrace, travel north on Highway 113 (Nisg̱a’a Highway) for approximately 100 km toward the Nisg̱a’a Memorial Lava Bed Park. The park is located in the Nass Valley and is accessible by road from Terrace. An alternate route is available from Kitwanga via Highway 37 and the Nass Forest Service Road.
The Tseax Cone itself is not available for unguided access. The cone is reached through a Nisg̱a’a-guided hiking tour that departs from the Cone Trail access road, approximately 1.4 km north of the Lava Lake picnic site. The guided hike is approximately 6 km and takes about 4 hours, with some steep stairs and moderately difficult terrain. Visitors should arrange a guided tour in advance and confirm current tour dates and access conditions with the park operator before travelling.
