Getting There

Parking

Rustic parking is available near the Guyishton Lake Recreation Site. Access is via a forest service road, and road conditions can change seasonally. Winter vehicle access may be limited by snow conditions.

Safety & Preparation

Forest service road: Access roads are unpaved and conditions can change rapidly due to rain, snow, mud, and forestry activity.

Rough boat launch: The Village specifically describes the boat launch as rough, so use caution when launching or retrieving a boat.

Winter/ice fishing: Never assume ice is safe. Check ice thickness and conditions yourself before venturing onto the frozen lake.

Remote location: Cell service and emergency assistance may be limited. Carry appropriate emergency supplies, navigation equipment, food, water, and first-aid equipment.

Wildlife: The surrounding forest is wildlife habitat, including bear country. Practice appropriate bear safety and never approach or feed wildlife.

Fishing regulations: Anglers must have the appropriate BC freshwater fishing licence and follow current provincial and region-specific fishing regulations. BC's current regulations should be checked before fishing because seasons, limits, and water-specific rules can change.

Watercraft regulations: BC requires watercraft to be transported with the drain plug removed under current provincial law.
