Should not be attempted until at least late June due to snow/alpine conditions.
General regional bear safety applies: hike in a group, make loud noise, carry bear spray, avoid surprising bears, keep dogs leashed.
Let someone know your route and expected return time before heading out — no cell service should be assumed on the trail.
