Alpine terrain — weather can change rapidly above treeline; carry layers and be prepared to turn back
Do not attempt to cross over from North to South Caribou — the South Trail is unconfirmed and not currently recommended for travel
Carry a map/GPS and don't rely solely on the North Trail being marked the whole way, if that's the case for this route
Bear country — carry bear spray and make noise; this is standard for most Bulkley Valley alpine access routes
Cell coverage is likely limited or absent in this area — let someone know your plans and expected return time
Check current conditions/closures before heading out, especially early/late season for snow
