About This Trail

The Bulkley Valley offers a diverse range of mountain biking experiences, from smooth, flowy singletrack to epic alpine rides and steep technical descents. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced rider, there's a trail to match every skill level and riding style.

The Smithers Mountain Bike Association (SMBA) manages three primary trail networks: The Bluff, Upper Hudson Bay Mountain, and Ptarmigan Road. In addition, numerous trails throughout the valley provide even more opportunities to explore the region's scenic forests, mountain terrain, and breathtaking landscapes.

Leave No Trace

Please follow Leave No Trace principles: pack out all waste, stay on designated trails, respect wildlife, and be considerate of other visitors.

Getting There

Directions

From Smithers, take Ski Hill Road north toward Hudson Bay Mountain Resort. The trail can be accessed from the upper ski hill area. Coordinate lift access with the resort during summer operations, or link via the Skyline or climbing trails from the base.

Parking

Safety & Preparation

This is a technical downhill trail — full-face helmet and body armor strongly recommended. Trail can be muddy and slippery after rain. Watch for exposed roots and rock features. Do not ride if visibility is poor due to fog or rain.
