The trail leads to a scenic viewpoint overlooking Dungate Falls, where spring snowmelt creates the most dramatic display of cascading water. Please check the condition of the water levels before going to this trail, as some waterfalls can get dry during the summer. As the season progresses, the waterfall's flow gradually decreases, though it remains a peaceful and picturesque destination throughout the year.

Dungate Falls tumbles along Dungate Creek beside the Equity Mine Road, framed by the stunning scenery of Seaton Ridge. Best seen in spring when snowmelt sends the creek rushing at full force, it's an easy roadside stop the whole family can enjoy.

Getting There

Directions

  1. Starting from the Houston Tourist Information building head east of Houston on Highway 16.
  2. Head East and turn right on Bulter Ave. Drive until you reach Omineca Way, turn right.
  3. Drive until you reach the Equity Mine Rd on your left.
  4. Drive up the Equity Mine Rd for approx 14.75 km.
  5. If you Reach the Husky FSR, you’ve gone too far.


Parking

Parking is available near the trail access point in designated pullout areas. Use caution when parking along gravel roads and leave sufficient room for other vehicles and emergency access.

Safety & Preparation

Keep a safe distance from cliff edges and viewpoints.

Rocks around the waterfall may be extremely slippery, especially after rainfall.

Water levels can rise rapidly during spring runoff and heavy rain events.

Children and pets should be closely supervised near exposed drop-offs.

Wildlife, including bears and other large animals, may be present in the area.

Stay on established trails and obey any posted warnings or closures.
