The Morice-Klinger Trails are an easy 3.2km loop network located a short drive west of Houston along the Morice River. Rated 3.7 stars and taking approximately 45–50 minutes, the trails are relatively flat with several vistas and viewpoints. The River Banks Trail follows the banks of the Morice River with great access for anglers and picnickers, while the back end of the loop enters a vast Black Cottonwood flood forest a rare and ecologically significant ecosystem where towering cottonwood trees can reach 40 metres in height and provide habitat for a wide variety of bird species. Great for families or anyone wanting to recreate close to town. Suitable for hiking, trail running, fishing access, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. Note: the middle section of the loop can be overgrown in summer look for marker tape to stay on route. Dogs welcome. Located on the unceded traditional territory of the Wet'suwet'en people.
