About This Trail

The Tower Aldermere Loop is a peaceful and scenic trail located within the historic Aldermere Townsite on the unceded traditional territory of the Wet’suwet’en Nation. Following a portion of the Historic Wagon Trail, this easy loop offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the area's rich cultural heritage while exploring beautiful forests and natural landscapes.

Beginning from Tower Street, the trail follows a gentle, well-defined route through second-growth forest and open natural areas. While much of the path is easy to navigate, some sections may be overgrown or feature exposed tree roots, so sturdy hiking shoes or boots are recommended for added comfort and stability.

For those wishing to extend their adventure, the route can continue north toward Tyhee Provincial Park and the scenic shores of Tyhee Lake, where visitors can enjoy peaceful lakeside views, birdwatching, and additional walking opportunities.

Ideal for beginners, families, and anyone looking for a relaxing outdoor experience, the Tower Aldermere Loop is an excellent introduction to hiking. During the warmer months, the trail is especially rewarding, with colourful wildflowers, abundant birdlife, and tranquil forest scenery creating a memorable walk through one of the Bulkley Valley's historic landscapes. Whether you're interested in local history, wildlife, or simply spending time in nature, this easy loop offers an enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages.
