Getting There

Directions

 The trailhead is located near Hagwilget, just outside New Hazelton. From New Hazelton, follow Highway 16 west toward Hazelton and cross the Hagwilget Bridge. The Six Mile Road turnoff is on the right (north) side — look for the start of the service road leading uphill. The trail begins where the road starts climbing. Use the downloaded GPX track to confirm the exact starting point as signage is minimal at the trailhead.

Parking

 Informal roadside parking at the base of the service road near Hagwilget. No formal parking area, no fees, and no facilities. All services are available in New Hazelton and Hazelton, just minutes away.

Safety & Preparation

The service road is occasionally used by maintenance vehicles accessing the Telus tower at the summit — be alert for traffic, particularly on weekends and during maintenance periods. The trail is exposed to weather near the top; carry a layer in case of wind or rain. Bears are present in the Hazelton area — carry bear spray and make noise. The trail is best enjoyed in dry conditions as the road surface can be slippery when wet or frosty. Keep dogs leashed. Best visited April through October; popular as an early-season hike before higher trails open up.
