Safety & Preparation

Several sections of the full loop pass close to the Bulkley River — exercise caution near the banks, especially during high water. Bears are frequently seen in this area, particularly during salmon season — carry bear spray at all times and keep dogs leashed. Bog and low-lying sections can be very wet in spring. Some trails within the network are shared with horses — yield to equestrians. Limited cell service — inform someone of your route and expected return. In winter, trails are used for cross-country skiing; be aware of other users sharing the trails.
