Getting There

Directions

To reach Trail of Bones, travel from Smithers toward The Bluff recreation area via Highway 16 and follow access roads into the Hudson Bay Mountain trail system. From the main Bluff parking area, ride up Bluff Road or connecting climb trails into the mid-to-upper network. The trail is accessed through junctions that connect with other Bluff routes such as Penetralia, All Screwed Up, and Remembrance Day.

Parking

Parking is available at the main Bluff recreation area parking lot near the base of the trail system. Additional small pullouts may be available along access roads, but vehicles must not block gates, logging roads, or emergency access routes. Parking can be limited during peak riding periods.

Safety & Preparation

Trail of Bones includes natural technical features such as roots, rocks, and tight corners that can be challenging at speed. The trail can become slippery in wet conditions, and visibility may be limited in dense forest sections. Riders should stay alert for trail intersections and other users. Helmets are strongly recommended.
