About This Trail

Remembrance Day is a forest singletrack trail on The Bluff in Smithers, BC that combines flowing sections with short technical features. The trail winds through dense forest with a mix of roots, small rock features, and natural corners. It is often ridden as part of a loop within the Bluff network and can serve as a connector between upper and mid-level trails. The ride is generally playful but still requires attention due to changing terrain.

Leave No Trace

Please follow Leave No Trace principles: pack out all waste, stay on designated trails, respect wildlife, and be considerate of other visitors.

Getting There

Directions

To reach Remembrance Day, travel from Smithers toward The Bluff recreation area via Highway 16 and follow access roads into the Hudson Bay Mountain trail system. From the main Bluff parking area, ride up Bluff Road or connecting climb trails into the mid-to-upper network. The trail is accessed through junctions that connect with nearby Bluff trails such as Penetralia, Auntie Flo, or other connector routes.

Parking

Parking is available at the main Bluff recreation area parking lot near the base of the trail system. Additional small pullouts may be available along access roads, but vehicles must not block gates, logging roads, or emergency access routes. Parking can be limited during peak riding periods.

Safety & Preparation

Remembrance Day includes natural forest terrain with roots, loose dirt, and occasional tight corners. The trail can become slippery in wet conditions, and visibility may be reduced in dense forest sections. Riders should stay alert for intersections with other trails and be aware of shared use areas. Helmets are strongly recommended.
