Getting There

Directions

To reach Upper Long Way, travel from Smithers toward The Bluff recreation area via Highway 16 and follow access roads into the Hudson Bay Mountain trail system. From the main Bluff parking area, ride up Bluff Road and continue into the upper trail network. Upper Long Way is accessed from upper junctions and connects with other trails such as Broken Axe Lookout, Smooth upper sections, and other mid-to-upper Bluff connectors.

Parking

Parking is available at the main Bluff recreation area parking lot at the base of the trail system. Additional pullouts may be available along access roads, but vehicles must not block gates, logging roads, or emergency access routes. Parking may be limited during busy riding days and weekends.

Safety & Preparation

Upper Long Way is generally less technical than downhill trails but still includes natural features such as roots, loose dirt, and occasional uneven terrain. Riders should be aware of shared trail intersections and changing route directions in the upper network. Conditions may become slippery when wet. Helmets are recommended.
