Getting There

Directions

To reach Bluff Road, travel from Smithers along Highway 16 and turn toward the Hudson Bay Mountain / Bluff recreation area access roads. Follow the road to the main Bluff parking area, where Bluff Road begins and leads directly into the trail network.

Parking

Parking is available at the main Bluff recreation area parking lot at the base of Bluff Road. Additional roadside pullouts may exist, but vehicles must not block gates, logging roads, or emergency access routes. Parking can be limited during weekends and peak riding season.

Safety & Preparation

Bluff Road is a shared access route used by bikers, hikers, and sometimes vehicles, so riders should stay alert and keep to the side when necessary. The climb can be physically demanding due to its sustained gradient. Loose gravel sections may reduce traction, especially when descending. Riders should maintain control and be cautious of traffic and other trail users. Helmets are recommended.
