Getting There

Directions

To reach Penetralia, travel from Smithers toward The Bluff recreation area via Highway 16 and follow access roads into the Hudson Bay Mountain trail network. From the main Bluff parking area, ride up Bluff Road or connecting climb trails into the mid-to-upper trail system. Penetralia is accessed via junctions connected to other Bluff trails such as All Screwed Up, Auntie Flo, or nearby connectors.

Parking

Parking is available at the main Bluff recreation area parking lot near the base of the trail system. Additional roadside pullouts may be available, but vehicles must not block gates, logging roads, or emergency access routes. Parking can be limited during peak riding times.

Safety & Preparation

Penetralia includes natural technical features such as roots, rocks, and tight turns that can be challenging at higher speeds. The trail may become slippery in wet conditions, and visibility can be limited in forested areas. Riders should be aware of intersections with other trails and watch for other users. Helmets are strongly recommended.
