About This Trail

Enchilada is a fun and moderately technical mountain bike trail on The Bluff in Smithers, BC. It features a mix of flowing singletrack, natural berms, and short technical sections with roots and rocks. The trail is known for being playful and fast in some sections while still requiring good control in tighter forest corners. It is often used as a connector or as part of a larger Bluff loop ride.

Getting There

Directions

To reach Enchilada, travel from Smithers toward The Bluff recreation area via Highway 16 and follow the access roads into the Hudson Bay Mountain trail system. From the main Bluff parking area, ride up Bluff Road or connecting climb trails into the mid to upper trail network. Enchilada is accessed through junctions connected to other Bluff trails such as Auntie Flo, Apocalypse, or nearby connector routes.

Parking

Parking is available at the main Bluff recreation area parking lot at the base of the trail system. Additional small pullouts may exist along access roads, but vehicles must not block gates or logging operations. Parking can become limited during weekends and peak summer riding periods.

Safety & Preparation

Enchilada includes natural forest terrain with roots, loose corners, and occasional steep or tight sections. The trail can change in difficulty depending on weather conditions, especially when wet, as roots and dirt sections become slippery. Riders should stay alert for intersecting trails and other users, and maintain control on faster descents. A helmet is strongly recommended.
