Getting There

Directions

To reach Back in Black, travel from Smithers toward The Bluff recreation area via Highway 16 and follow the access roads into the Hudson Bay Mountain trail network. From the main Bluff parking area, ride up Bluff Road or connecting climb trails to reach the upper Bluff trail system. Back in Black is located in the upper network and is typically accessed via connecting trails or junctions near other advanced downhill lines such as Shining and Broken Axe.

Safety & Preparation

Back in Black is a highly technical trail with steep gradients, loose rocks, roots, and tight corners that demand strong braking control and advanced riding skills. Visibility can be limited in forested sections, and trail conditions can change quickly due to weather. Riders should be fully prepared for emergency stops and rough terrain. A helmet is mandatory, and full protective gear is strongly recommended. This trail is not suitable for beginners.
