About This Trail

Child’s Play Jump Line is a progression-style jump trail located within the Bermline area of The Bluff in Smithers, BC. It is designed for riders who want to practice jumping in a controlled, flowy environment. The trail features a series of well-shaped dirt jumps with smooth takeoffs and landings, allowing riders to build confidence, speed control, and air awareness. It is one of the more approachable jump lines on The Bluff and is commonly used for skill development.

Getting There

Directions

To reach the trail, travel from Smithers toward The Bluff recreation area via Highway 16 and follow access roads into the Hudson Bay Mountain trail network. From the main Bluff parking area, ride up Bluff Road or connecting climb routes until you reach the Bermline section. The Child’s Play Jump Line is accessed from within this network and is clearly marked as part of the flow/jump progression area.

Parking

Parking is available at the main Bluff recreation area parking lot near the base of the trail system. Additional small pullouts may be found along access roads, but they should not block gates or logging operations. The parking area can become busy during weekends and peak riding season.

Safety & Preparation

Child’s Play Jump Line contains consecutive dirt jumps designed for progression, but riders must maintain proper speed and control. Overshooting or under-speeding jumps can lead to crashes. The trail may become slippery when wet, and features can change over time due to maintenance or weather. Riders should inspect features before attempting larger jumps and wear appropriate protective gear, including a helmet. This trail is not recommended for complete beginners to jumping.
