Getting There

Directions

To reach Boardwalk, travel from Smithers toward The Bluff recreation area via Highway 16 and follow signs or access roads toward Hudson Bay Mountain. From the main Bluff parking area, riders can access Boardwalk directly from the lower trail network. It connects upward into the mid and upper sections of The Bluff and is commonly used to reach trails like Apocalypse, Auntie Flo, and Shining.

Parking

Parking is available at the main Bluff recreation area parking lot near the base of the trail system. Additional small pullouts exist along nearby access roads, but vehicles must not block gates, logging roads, or emergency access points. Parking may be limited during weekends and peak summer riding times.

Safety & Preparation

Boardwalk includes both wooden sections and natural terrain, which can become slippery when wet or icy. Riders should use caution on wooden features, especially during rain or early/late season conditions. Since the trail is also used by hikers, cyclists should slow down in shared sections and stay alert for other users. Proper control is important on both climbs and descents.
